Essay On Oskar Schindler
What is known is that his courage and audacity probably mixed with a fair dose of arrogance saved over 1000 Jews, but left him with nothing-except respect from the Jewish community.
Schindler saved these people through bribery and his munitions factory.
The Holocaust for years has never been fully discussed or described to the outside world.Never once was a useful piece of equipment or ammunition built there. It will never be known how many lives that saved on the front line. Schindler was arrested twice and only saved through his party connections. The main conflict he faced was overcoming the Nazis and saving over one thousand Jewish People.Schindler, with out a job at the time, joined the Nazi Party and followed on the heels of the SS when the Germans invaded Poland. This is when Schindler took over two previously Jewish owned companies that dealt with the manufacture and sales of enamel kitchenware products and opened up his own enamel shop right outside of Krakow near the Jewish ghetto. There, he employed mostly Jewish workers, which saved them from being deported to labor camps. Also well known was his love of women, alcohol and money. He even joined the Nazi party in the hope of making a quick buck from the war- a user of the worst sort.Though twice the Gestapo arrested him, he got released because of his many connections and with many bribes. We know of Oskar Schindler through many different types of the media. Most importantly, he helped save an entire race of human beings. We know of him through the television, newspapers, books, and by word of mouth through the Jewish people he had saved.
