Alan Dyson from the University of Manchester from his study of extended schools suggests that “In particular, the study found that extended schools were most beneficial for pupils from the most disadvantaged backgrounds, providing stability and helping to improve their chances of learning.” (Alan Dyson, uk) The logic behind these activities is so that pupils who are under achieving are able to get the one on one attention that is needed to help them.
