Format For Writing Literature Review

Also, while creating a literature review outline template may take time, it will save much more time later.

A literary review is a survey of the body of work done within a specific field.

This is different than a research paper in that a literary review does not add anything new to the field.

It simply collects the major and contributing work already done, and presents the body of work as it is.

A literature review may be a stand alone work or the introduction to a larger research paper, depending on the assignment.

The methods used will influence how the topic is discussed.

As an academic writer, you are expected to provide an analytical overview of the significant literature published on your topic.

If your audience knows less than you do on the topic, your purpose is instructional.
