Research Paper Scholarships
In order to submit the name of your faculty member, you must first complete the General Application.
Once you see the list of Recommended Opportunities, select the name of the opportunity you would like to apply for (e.g.
Applications for URS have all been awarded for Summer 2019.
A final report and faculty appraisal must be submitted at the conclusion of the project (see below for details).This committee selects the winners, who will be notified by e-mail or on the application portal in late April/early May.Note: Upon completion of the project, the recipient of a research scholarship must submit a summary report, a minimum of 5 pages, via online submission.To see what awards have previously been offered, you can check the application website.The research project must be work above and beyond the normal course of study.Directions for this will be emailed to the student in August.If there are any problems with submission, please e-mail Sophia Tsai ([email protected]) with any questions you may have.Students will receive a ,000 stipend for the summer to cover all expenses, including airfare, room, and board. Students in this program participate in 10-12 weeks of full-time faculty-mentored research. Receipt of an award does not disqualify students from applying in future application cycles, so long as they maintain eligibility (see above).The amount of the research scholarship was established to recognize and encourage undergraduate and can cover project costs, and/or any education-related expenses, including summer living costs.All research scholarships are summer awards of ,000.Awards will be paid by early June and will not replace academic-year financial aid.
